A cold sneer emerged on Xie Jingsheng's lips.

"Devoted everything you have? When did you do that?In your dream?"He slapped her in the face."I am quite curious, how many lies can you make up?"

He thought he was invincible and fearless.

Chapter 1.Her Husband Married Another Woman

The festival suona sounded thorough the whole manor, the continuous firecrackers made the atmosphere much more heated.

Ignoring the begging eyes of her maid, Helen, the hostess of this manor, ran out of the dilapidated courtyard where she was imprisoned since the day when she married Jason.

Though stepping out of the yard without permission would bring her severe punishment,Helen still stumbled out with her lame leg.

As soon as she reached the hall, she saw Jason at a glance.

The bright red robe on him made his handsome face more unparalleled.

In contrast to her ragged appearance, the bride who stood beside her husband looked much more glamorous and noble.

She wanted to rush over but was stopped by the guard.

She could do nothing but witness the master of the ceremony announcing the accomplishment of their wedding.

The ceremony had been over...

Helen's white countenance turned into sick pale.

Only with the help of the wall could she stabilize her shivering body.

"Why do you marry Yvette?"

"Don't you know that she is the woman I hate most?"

She reluctantly held those questions back, just staring at them silently.

It's time for the bride and the groom to leave.

When turning around, the bride almost fell because of the high heels under her feet.

Jason nimbly held her body in his arms.

The bride's red veil accidentally fell.

All the guests at present were shocked.

This was no doubt a severe accident.

According to local custom, the groom must be the first man who sees the bride's concealed face underneath the red veil.

"That must be the hint of the Jade Emperor. Please, Jason, don't marry her! "

Helen desperately yelled in her heart, like a drowning person who saw a life-saving straw.

The bride was also a little flustered.

But Jason's face was as calm as if nothing has happened.

He gently kissed the bride on the lips with a doting smile, "That's my fault. I am too hasty to enjoy my precious."

Everyone clapped for his tolerance.

Except for Helen.

Unconsciously, her slightly sharp fingernails dug deep into the palm of her hand.

But she couldn’t feel the pain at all.

"Now it's our private time! Help yourselves!"Jason took the bride in his arms and strode to their room.

In his arms, the bride Yvette suddenly cast her sight on Helen, whispering:"Sister..."

Jason's face became livid in an instant.

Following Yvette's line of sight, he saw Helen standing in a dimmed corner.

He glared at her with indifferent eyes, "Have I allowed you to show up here? Go back where you belong!"

Helen was strange to the guests. When they were wondering who the woman is, Yvette gently broke away from Jason's arms and came to Helen with a smile, affectionately holding her hand. "My dear sister, today is my wedding to his highness. In the future, we will serve our husband together. How lucky we are!"

Helen didn't bother to look at her.

She coldly slid her fingers from the woman’s grasp and gazed at Jason, "Is this necessary?"

The guests suddenly realized.

It turned out that this woman was the rightful wife of Jason.

It is rumored that Jason and Helen were childhood sweethearts and got engaged at a young age. But everything changed when Jason was 18 years old. This year, his father was framed up by his political enemies, all the people of the James family was imprisoned and sentenced to death. When he desperately knelt in front of Helen’s home, Helen refused to lend him a helping hand.

With serious injuries, Jason knelt in front of her residence for three days and three nights, just for meeting her.

But his sincerity earned him nothing but a bad beating and a letter full of insult: "You are useless and hopeless. Even the dog in my house was more promising than you. You can marry me in your dream!"

After reading the letter, Jason fainted in front of the door of her house and got a serious illness which almost got him killed. After that, he left the capital in despair and joined the army.

To everyone's surprise, he soon became a marquis because of his competent military talent and bravery in battles.

But his legend has just begun.

The emperor appreciated his talent and accomplishment, appointing him as the chief general of the empire.

With more powers, he conquered three kingdoms and won the title of "Wulin King", becoming one of the most powerful nobles in the empire.

When he returned in triumph and glory, the first thing he did was marry Helen.

Everyone thought he was so tolerant that he has forgiven what she did.

But it seemed that Helen's situation was not as good as they thought.

"Don't you dare talk back!" Jason's fierce eyes were full of anger, "Where's the guard? Flogged her thirty times for violating my orders!"

Everyone was shocked.

Yvette pleaded for Helen.

Jason patted her hand and looked at Helen condescendingly. "She asks for it."

"Jason...no, my Lord," Helen looked at him, begging him in an extremely humble manner, "I am willing to be punished. But, please don't marry Yvette!"

Yvette shed pitiful tears. "My dear sister, I love his highness sincerely. Even If you don't like him, why do you have to break us up?"

Helen ignored her again. She raised her head, looking at Jason, "Don't marry her, please..."

He should have known what Yvette has done to her.

Yvette's mother poisoned her mother and grandmother as soon as she moved into her home, and gradually killed all those who love her. Yvette has always bullied her and stopped her.

She had poured out those to him when they were children.

He promised to avenge her...

But he failed her.

Jason scoffed at her request and scowled at the guards, "What are you waiting for?"

The whip fell on her back.

The sharp pain held back all her words, she could only bite her lips to guard her last dignity.

Someone mocked, "No one could be free of Karma. If she had fulfilled her marriage contract and married the Wuling King, how could she end up today?"

"She thought the heir of Nanli King would marry her, but how's this possible?"

"Such a snob! She deserves this"

"Yes, yes, this is karma!"

Helen heard some of them.

She smiled miserably.

It was that she who knelt in the snow and begged the heir of Nanli King to save Jason's life.

It was that she who broke her leg and became lame just for meeting him.

It was also that she sell all her valuable jewelry and give it to him as money to leave

She did write a letter to him, but there were only a few words on it: "I am your girl, for now, and forever."

She has never failed him.

In the past years, she has thought of killing herself so many times.

But every time she thought of him, she would give up and gather enough courage to face the miserable life again.

"I will protect you for the rest of my life."

This was what he promised him when they were still children.

But now...

The whip mercilessly tore her clothes and wounded her exposed back.

Her vision became increasingly blurred, but she tried her best to remain sober.

In her eyes, the man she has loved for two years standing in front of her with a cold glare.

The woman she hates most lying in his arms secretly grinned a mocking sneer.
